Our engagement story.

With the countdown to the wedding well and truly on I thought it would be a good time for me to share our engagement story, so here goes!

We got engaged in the beautiful Lake District, did it go to plan? No. Was it perfect? No. But it was perfectly us.

We had booked a few nights away in a gorgeous B&B in Ambleside and what with Jack’s secret keeping abilities being at an all-time low, I had a huge inkling that we were going to come back from the trip engaged (God knows what would have went down if it didn’t happen!)

Jack had planned on proposing by a beautiful lake on a romantic walk, but the weather had other ideas. It threw it down from the start of our trip to the end, and with Jack doing his own packing (so I wouldn’t find the ring) he’d not packed any spare trousers; so he would have had one muddy knee for the rest of the weekend! Useless. So instead, before we went out for dinner, we headed back to the room to get changed and have a few drinks. Jack asked me if I wanted my surprise (Yes really, that obvious. Bless him) and asked me to hide in the bathroom while he got it out of his suitcase, who said romance is dead? I was stood in the bathroom, heart racing, thankful I’d had my nails done, waiting for the rest of my life to begin. It was just me and my love, in our private moment and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

We spent the next hour or so calling everyone we knew sharing happy tears with all of our loved ones. We then had another 2 days to revel in the moment with a spa day, country walks in the rain and lots of memories created in our little bubble before we headed back home to reality.

An engagement which was perfectly imperfect.

Love you Mr Studholme … Not long now!
