With a slow but up and coming tourism market Lombok hasn't got the abundance of restaurants that Bali has - this is what we found:
The Taman - An Australian owned restaurant and bar with a beautiful fountain in the centre. They offer a full Indonesian, Italian and Indian menu. We enjoyed arancini, bruschetta, pizza and a gorgeous spicy crab pasta.
Happy cafe - The busiest bar in Senggigi with a great band and cheap drinks. They even have affordable and palatable wine! Winner. We had dinner the next evening & it didn't disappoint. Jack had a pizza which he scoffed in minutes & I had sushi from their extensive menu. The sushi took a while as it was made to order but totally worth the wait. 2 beers, 2 (imported) wines, one pizza and shit loads of sushi for just £20.
The Office - On senggigi beach you're of course going to have a beautiful view. A varied menu & reasonable prices it's not bad for a quick spot of lunch.
The Beer House - They have wine - real wine and it doesn't cost the earth! This is what dreams are made of. A live band and a quirky modern atmosphere, a perfect stop for a post dinner drink or two.
The Angels cafe - Part restaurant, part gallery this little beaut had delicious spring rolls and equally yummy Nasi Goreng. On the main road of Senggigi it's a cheap and cheerful place for tea.
Lombok wasn't our favourite spot for food but then again, that's not the reason we went. With a very slow up and coming tourism market I'm sure the restaurants and bars will pick up, for the moment, enjoy the calm.
