Ubud has an amazing range of restaurants from 5 star fine dining to a quirky vegan cafe. There's Mexican, Italian and even a cat cafe if that's your thing!

Here are my top spots -

  • Ibu Rai - Located on Monkey forest road and surrounded by fairy lights it's a gorgeous romantic spot. One of the best Nasi Goreng we had, and that's saying something, we ate a lot. A lot.

  • Kubu at the Ritz Carlton - We treated ourselves (or rather our wedding guests did) to a fine dining meal during our Honeymoon. If you're looking to do the same, this is the place to go. We enjoyed a 9 course meal with 2 drinks and some water for just over £100 - probably what you'd spend if you went to TGI Fridays right? Check out my Ubud blog to see pictures of our gorgeous meal.

  • Grandpas - A gorgeous little quirky cafe just outside of the market for when you're all shopped out! Delicious smoothies and the breakfasts look divine! (Poached eggs with homemade pesto and avocado - yum)

  • Taco Casa - On the winding streets of Ubud, away from the main stretch there is Taco Casa. I was dubious about eating Mexican food, in Indonesia but my God it was gorgeous. Jack had a bursting burrito which he demolished in seconds and I had chicken nachos & they were beaut.

  • LOL - Not a spot we ate at but we enjoyed rum and reggae music for hours on end. A great spot for an after dinner chill out.

  • Warung Siam - Again, slightly further across from Monkey Forest road is some winding streets with delicious restaurants and beautiful jewellery shops! We stumbled upon Warung Siam and had some absolutely delicious Thai food. Pad Thai, spring rolls and satay - all beautiful. We wanted the fish cakes but they'd sold out, a firm favourite apparently!

Ubud had some of the best restaurants we ate at and it had them by the bucket load. The most diverse place we stayed with regards to types of food and price, definitely a foodies dream place.
